Since 2003 BiomeTI e. V. operates at the interface university – company and together with it´s partners it does take care of processes and projects along the whole value chain of biomedical and medical engineering innovations.

Innovation processes in biomedical engineering are characterized through complex and often multidisciplinary questions. As a network with cross institutional and multidisciplinary characteristics BiomeTI represents an exemplary spectrum of scientific expertise and clinical application experience in biomedical engineering as well as in all for biomedical engineering relevant disciplines such as biotechnology, optical technologies, micro-, nanotechnology and material science.

All steps of the medical value chain from the clinical problem, over the idea for the technical solution, up to in-vitro and in-vivo tested prototypes and the real production of the product are projected in the clinical, scientific and mechanical engineering clinics and institutes assembled in BiomeTI e.V.

The society is equipped with profound and longstanding experience with the management of consolidated projects and application consortia for innovation competitions on national and international level. BiomeTI`s board of directors is composed of established experts from Life Science and Health Economy and is supported by a high class board of trustees consisting of representatives of economy, science and politics.
